We have been conducting walking tours of Historic Traverse City since 2016. Walking tours tailored to the needs of individual organization and groups.

Receptive Services

We offer receptive services for the major tour operators coming to the area. From lodgings to restaurants, we know what to recommend.

More About Our Guides

Steve Morse – In addition to being a step-on guide for several years, Steve has written and produced videos for visitors and boaters to the northwest Michigan region since 1994. Among his titles were: “Four Seasons of the Sleeping Bear”, “Cruising Grand Traverse Bay”, and “Cruising the Inland Route.” In 2014 he volunteered as a docent on the Magical History Tour Bus for the Traverse City History Center.  When that program was discontinued, Steve filled the void by creating the Guided Walking History Tour of Traverse City. In July of 2025 the tour will begin its tenth consecutive season. It’s a pleasant two mile, two and a half hour walking tour through the historic neighborhoods and waterfront of Traverse City.

Debbie Douglas – Debbie has been tour guide for our Guided Walking History Tours of Traverse City for six consecutive seasons and has been a regional Step-On guide for the past three years. She is the Special Events Coordinator for the City Opera House, a position she has held for nearly 20 years.

Jill Doederlein – Jill has been a step on guide in northwest Michigan the past two years. Her career in the travel industry includes motorcoach, the airlines, and Amtrak. Jill also taught  hospitality and travel classes for many years. Her love of travel has taken her to several countries.
